EGIS Raises Awareness of Thrombosis on World Thrombosis Day

On October 13, 2025, as the global medical community united to mark World Thrombosis Day, the pharmaceutical company EGIS drew attention to the seriousness of the issue. Recognizing the scale of the problem, EGIS is implementing a comprehensive strategy that combines initiatives for the medical community with practical support for patients. Two new directions in this work include the educational project “Cardio Regatta” for physicians (www.cardio-regata.ru) and the “Cardio Care” program for patients, available in the free mobile app Zdorovye.ru.

Cardio Regatta

The international educational program Cardio Regatta, awarded the DEA-2025 prize as the “Best OCM Promotion Project,” provides cardiologists, general practitioners, and internists with access to up-to-date knowledge in modern, engaging formats. The program has made continuing medical education not only useful but also enjoyable. In just three months, it brought together over 7,200 cardiologists and generated more than 44,000 views of educational content.

Participants explore interactive clinical cases, watch expert video podcasts, and reinforce their knowledge through themed quizzes. The most active professionals receive an international certificate from the Royal College of Physicians of the United Kingdom.

Cardio Care

For patients receiving anticoagulant therapy, the Cardio Care program in the Zdorovye.ru app serves as a personal health assistant. It helps users understand their condition and treatment principles, offers practical lifestyle recommendations, and supports adherence to prescribed therapy.

The app includes a health diary for tracking key indicators, a reminder system for timely medication intake, and alerts for restocking essential medications — ensuring continuity of care.

A key focus of the program is the importance of regular anticoagulant use. Missing even a single dose can significantly increase the risk of thrombosis, potentially leading to serious complications such as stroke or pulmonary embolism. Adhering to the prescribed treatment regimen is therefore critical in preventing life-threatening conditions.

“In today’s fast-paced clinical environment, it’s essential to offer solutions that save time and integrate seamlessly into medical practice. The success of our educational initiatives like Cardio Regatta and Cardio Care shows that when we provide physicians with relevant knowledge in a convenient format, and patients with clear tools for daily health management, we create a strong foundation for effective partnership in the fight against serious diseases,” - said Olga Dukhanova, General Manager of EGIS-RUS.
