At the symposium "In the gloomy Forest of Neurology and Psychiatry", which was held on February 20, 2024 as part of the "Vein's Readings", the level of diagnosis of affective, neurodegenerative and autonomic disorders was discussed.

According to observational studies, every second inhabitant of Russia suffers from affective spectrum disease, but only 10% of them are correctly diagnosed. At the same time, it is assumed that the frequency of these violations will increase every year.

Diagnosis of these disorders is difficult: due to the stigmatization of diseases in society, not everyone turns to doctors, the reception time is limited and constantly shortened, which prevents the doctor from fully assessing the patient's condition.

It is possible to simplify diagnosis, speed it up, and relieve the doctor using innovative digital technologies, including solutions for mobile healthcare, which have become widespread in recent years. One of them is the Neuroscanner application, developed by the pharmaceutical company EGIS-RUS in collaboration with the leading psychiatrists in Russia. The Neuroscanner application helps to determine the level of depression and anxiety in patients, but also to assess cognitive abilities and the degree of dementia. Its capabilities were also discussed at the last symposium.

"Egis constantly working on the development and improvement of its therapeutic therapeutic solutions; now a third scale for the diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease has been added to the application. This tool is intended not only for neurologists and psychiatrists, but also for somatic doctors, in addition, the "Neurocanner" can be used for educational purposes. The application helps to make a preliminary diagnosis, as well as to monitor the patient's condition in dynamics, which, if changes are detected, may raise the question of a possible change of therapy." – commented in EGIS-RUS LLC.
