The project "Egis eco-marathon", aimed at greening the company and its employees, received well-deserved recognition from specialists in the field of event marketing and was among the finalists in the category "Corporate Social Responsibility: Best ESG Project".
For the first time, the Egis eco-marathon participated in the award, which brings together leading experts who implement major event projects.
The in-house eco-marathon is part of EGIS-RUS's global strategy in the field of sustainable development, the purpose of which was to draw the attention of the company's employees and their families to the problem of environmental pollution, promote a responsible lifestyle and motivate them to work together to ensure a sustainable future.
Each of the six weeks of the marathon was dedicated to different environmental aspects. 190 employees from 45 cities of Russia took part in the marathon. In six weeks, EGIS-RUS employees managed to hold 75 clean-up days for public areas in 45 cities of Russia, hand over recyclables for recycling to local eco-centers 554 times, send organic waste for composting 102 times, and place 86 educational posts on social networks and posters about the importance of environmental protection.
Many participants also successfully developed a variety of healthy eco-habits. "Egis is one of the active supporters of the concept of sustainable development and the ESG agenda. The launch of the eco-marathon was preceded by the introduction of the eco-policy and the "Environmental Management System", and then the successful certification of activities for compliance with the international standard ISO 14001:2015.
As a result, almost half of the company joined the marathon, and this is our special pride, because the coincidence of employees' life principles with the basic values of the employer is one of the keys to successful work," comments Natalia Maltseva, HR Director of EGIS-RUS LLC. "Our company participated in the festival for the first time and immediately became a nominee for such a prestigious award. Recognition of our contribution to the ESG agenda by the professional community not only confirms the company's commitment to corporate social responsibility and the green agenda, but also encourages other players in the Russian market to follow our example and treat the environment responsibly."
